Experience

Experience

Twenty years in search, from two very different vantage points.

Through my own consultancy I look after a small, loyal roster of Australian businesses, most of whom have stayed with me for years. Through a long-term contract with Bridgeline I work at the enterprise end, solving deep technical SEO across hundreds of global accounts on their HawkSearch platform.

I'm open to part-time and contract engagements where that mix of hands-on consulting and enterprise technical depth is useful. Below is the full version of my background.

Where I've worked

Adam Guerin SEO

SEO Consultant · Self-employed · Founded in Perth, now Cairns · 2012 to present

I founded my consultancy in Perth in 2012 and later relocated it to Cairns, building a remote practice on a simple promise: one client per industry, so I never work for a competitor. I cover the full SEO stack, technical audits, site architecture, crawlability, on-page optimisation, Google Business Profile and Core Web Vitals, alongside Google Ads for lead generation.

The thing I'm proudest of is retention. My longest client relationship is now close to ten years, with rankings, organic growth and ad return that hold up season after season. Clients stay because the work keeps paying off, not because they're locked in.

Bridgeline

Senior SEO Strategist · Contract · Remote · 2021 to present

I'm the retained SEO consultant for Bridgeline, the enterprise digital experience platform behind HawkSearch and WooRank. My work here is deep and technical: resolving SEO issues across hundreds of global enterprise accounts running HawkSearch, their site-search product, in sectors from sports equipment to tools and jewellery.

I work directly with client-side development teams, HawkSearch engineers and project managers. This is where my enterprise, global-scale experience comes from, and where I've sharpened the skill of translating SEO into something engineering and product teams can actually ship. I also own SEO for Bridgeline's own web properties.

WooRank

Head of SEO Services · Contract · Remote · 2020

I led SEO services across WooRank's client accounts, running audits, resolving technical issues and building performance-driven strategies, and managed internal SEO for WooRank's own properties. WooRank was later acquired by Bridgeline.

Nutwork Web Design

Web and SEO Manager (Co-founder) · Self-employed · Perth · 2009 to 2011

I co-founded and co-owned Nutwork, a Perth web design and digital marketing agency. I ran the SEO and digital side: technical audits, on-page, site architecture, Google Ads and paid social. Building an agency from nothing taught me the commercial side of SEO as much as the technical one.

Constructing Excellence

ICT and Web Manager · Full-time · London, UK · 2005 to 2008

I led the ICT department for Constructing Excellence, a UK construction industry body, responsible for infrastructure, digital platforms, website management and IT strategy, including support teams, vendor relationships and digital transformation.

Training and speaking

I've delivered more than 50 SEO and digital marketing workshops to over a thousand small-business owners around Australia, alongside university teaching.

  • Central Queensland University — SEO, digital marketing and Google workshops across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba (2016 to 2019)
