Do I still need SEO if AI is answering everything?
Yes, and the reason is fairly boring. AI answers get assembled from pages that already rank and from businesses whose details are already straight1. The work that gets you cited in an AI answer is mostly the work that got you ranking in the first place.
What has genuinely changed is how you measure it, and how much of the hype is worth paying for2. Most of the special AI optimisation tactics being sold right now are not.
